The conversion of a former blacksmith's homestead into a community cafe with facilities for a variety of events including live music, film screenings, family celebrations, small weddings and educational events for children and families. The original farm building with a forge is in very poor condition. We decided to remove the entire collapsed center section and create an inner courtyard in its place. A composition of three simple volumes, communicating with each other through the inner courtyard/garden, is thus created from the originally continuous vast floor plan.
